The NFL mourns Tarvaris Jackson. The former quarterback was killed in a car accident on Sunday, according to media reports. He was only 36 years old.
Jackson was ranked 64th in 2006 by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the draft. In his ten seasons in the NFL, he played for the Vikings (2006 to 2010), Seattle Seahawks (2011 and 2013 to 2015) and the Buffalo Bills (2012).
Super Bowl win with the Seahawks
He was mostly the backup at the time, winning the Super Bowl with the Hawks as a substitute for Russell Wilson in the 2013 season.
Wilson reported on Twitter on Monday, writing, “TJack, we’ll miss you. I pray for your family. Love you, man.”
In Seattle, Jackson had his most productive NFL year before the Wilson era: in 2011, he launched 15 games for 3091 yards and 14 touchdowns.
In 2018 Jackson joined the coaches, starting as a quarterback coach at Alabama State before moving to Tennessee State University in 2019, where he also took care of the quarterbacks.
