Twitter comments: I will never forget first meeting Nancy Parker. She talked to me and acted like we had known each other for years. She was just that kind of person and touched so many lives. My prayers go out to her family and friends. New Orleans and journalism lost a great one yesterday.
New Orleans Nancy Parker
The moment you hear about the plane crash yesterday in New Orleans East, and authorities had not released the names of the two victims. Then, an hour or so later, you learn it was Nancy Parker and Mr. Franklin who literally took flight on board his stunt plane. After that, I realized I had Nancy’s number in my contacts! Nancy Parker and I met at Sister Strut in 2015. Fox 8 was the TV network sponsor, and I represented survivors as an Ambassador. Amidst the high energy celebration, we had a brief conversation about me being a Breast Cancer survivor and Massage Therapy. She mentioned how she loved receiving massages and that I should follow up with her sometimes. The follow up texting happened about once, or twice, and as life happens, life goes on. Needless to say, Nancy never had the opportunity to relax on my table. Life lessons: Always follow up and follow through! If possible, seize EVERY opportunity! Love every single day until the last day. It was a pleasure to meet you in this life, Nancy Parker Boyd.💜
